If you're looking for a warm welcome, New Lodge Farm in Bulwick, Northamptonshire has it in bundles. From the minute we arrived with our caravan in tow were were made to feel very welcome by everybody on site. In particular Richard, one of the site wardens and the owners Sarah and Simon couldn't have made us feel more welcome.

Café Bar

One of the highlights of New Lodge Farm is definitely the warm and welcoming staff and the amazing food at the on-site Café Bar. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining options, and they are even dog-friendly too!

After enjoying a delicious and made-to-order pizza on Saturday evening, we couldn't resist indulging in a mouthwatering Sunday lunchtime roast. I can honestly say it was one of the best roasts I've ever had, second only to my mum's cooking.

We decided to try the Roast Lamb and enjoyed our meal outside, served with flair and a warm smile by the site owner, Sarah.

Throughout the week, we also treated ourselves to a delicious cooked breakfast and a Friday night supper, where we couldn't resist ordering the Steak. For more details, you can check out our Trip Advisor review.

Farm Shop

And let's not forget about the fabulous farm shop at New Lodge Farm! They offer a wide range of top-quality fresh meat, dairy, bakery goods, preserves, and drinks. Sure, some of the items may be a bit pricey, but trust me, the quality and taste are absolutely unbeatable. It's definitely worth treating yourself to some of their delicious offerings.

Showers and WC's

The showers and toilets at New Lodge Farm are always kept impeccably clean. We were particularly impressed with the spacious and private separate toilet cubicles, which are also used by the Café Bar and Shop. It's worth noting that if you choose a pitch at the far end of the field, it may be quite a dash to the toilet block in the morning.

Dog Field

Ora, our beloved Spanish Water Dog, absolutely adored the freedom of roaming around the 1.5 acre dog field at New Lodge Farm. The stimulating space allowed her to discover something thrilling every time she ventured off her lead.

Fully Serviced Pitch

The pitches at New Lodge Farm are generously sized at 9m x 9m, providing ample space for your car, caravan (or motorhome), and awning. You have the option to choose between hardstanding pitches and grass pitches, and for this trip, we decided on a grass pitch.

Each pitch is fully equipped with water, electricity (EHU), and grey waste facilities. The pitch price includes accommodation for 2 adults, 2 pets, 1 awning, and 1 towing or towed vehicle. Additionally, there is a convenient chemical point located in the centre of the field for easy emptying and cleaning of toilet cassettes.

Various amenities such as a fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, and ironing facilities for your convenience are also available.

Location

New Lodge Farm is conveniently located on a major road, making it easily accessible for those towing a caravan. While there may be some road noise that can be heard from your pitch, the peaceful surroundings of open farmland, grazing cows, and roaming wildlife create an atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding and relaxing.

Here's our Trip Advisor Review:

We loved it here and the only reason we haven't given it 5 stars is the location is a little isolated...we realise that cannot be changed and actually that is part of the appeal, you have to relax, wind down and rest, so perhaps 4.5-5.0 stars is more accurate.

Okay, we were greeted upon arrival by Richard - he was fantastic and could not have been more welcoming and helpful, directing us to choose any available pitch and set up. He even popped down to check everything was okay with our setting up. We were caravanning and chose a spot facing the fields (and cows).

Richard advised us to try the pizza night (which is a staple for us at the weekend, so we duly obliged)> Freshly cooked on site it was delicious.

The next day we booked in for the Sunday Roast, we chose Lamb. Wow, it was so tasty, and was served with roast pot's, leek crumble, parsnips, carrots broccoli, gravy and ample mint sauce. Topped off with the most delicious Yorkshire pudding I have tasted in years (just like mamma used to make!). Sarah, the site owner (along with her hubby) served us with aplomb and a knowing smile and could not do enough to serve us.

Moving away from the food for just a moment, the facilities are excellent, the rainfall shower just great at the end or start of the day.

A little tip here, if you park your caravan at the far end of the field, the morning dash can be quite a walk....so perhaps choose a spot closer.

In an ideal world a new toilet block in the middle of the field would be nice, but probably unrealistic due to power/water supplies and waste.

All of the staff in the on-site farm shop and cafe are so very friendly and helpful and always welcomed us with a smile.

After staying for five days - we extended our stay by a few extra nights, which wasn't a given as the site had a very large booking from Rapido taking most of the pitches for the weekend, but Richard called the event organiser who kindly agreed to give up his pitch (which we were on) in order that we did not need to move for our extended stay to another pitch.

So huge thanks again to Richard and the Rapido Facebook Group.

For the Friday evening supper we booked in for Steak night, recommended by Richard and most of the cafe staff. It was not a disappointment. After choosing our steak (from Simon?) it was served and cooked at our table on a hot stone with accompanying salad, onion rings (delicious), fries and choice of steak sauce. Of all the meals we ate here we enjoyed this the most.

We departed on Saturday rather wishing we didn't have to>

Thank you to everyone for making it a great stay.
